Use this UB hunter checklist to prepare for an initial discussion about your Overseas Hiring needs.
Start with the business task
Explain the target country, customer segment, current business stage and what the first hire should deliver. A title alone does not show whether the priority is Market Entry, channel development or established operations.
Separate local and headquarters responsibilities
List decisions owned locally, work retained by headquarters and available technical or operational support. Identify the hiring manager and the person who can resolve questions about budget and authority.
Define practical conditions
- Actual work location and travel requirements
- Local hiring or an international assignment
- Working languages for customers, colleagues and reporting
- Compensation range and target start date
- Interview participants and decision process
Agree what the search includes
Discuss sourcing, candidate conversations, interviews and onboarding coordination. Work permits, employment contracts, tax and payroll need separately defined responsibilities and appropriate local expertise.
Keep the brief current
When the business plan changes, record which requirements changed and who approved them. Review the effect on the search before continuing the search.
